Rosann Hammer (born 1995) is a documentary photographer with a passion for telling stories where people and nature are in harmony. Her personal and photographic identity is deeply rooted in her background from the coastal region of Eastern Finnmark. She seeks to gain a deeper understanding of and document the areas where she grew up, as well as her Sámi heritage.
Her inspiration and motivation continuously draw her northward—the sound of waves crashing against the shore and the weather shifting from calm seas to raging storms. She is fascinated by people who live and work in demanding professions, such as fishing and reindeer herding—those who live off and in tune with nature, regardless of the weather.
Rosann believes it is important to highlight these people and their stories, as they represent a cultural heritage that may be lost over time and has deep historical roots.
